Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 7 September 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your data from TCHAT. The route depends on who you are: a customer who received a message from a business using the platform, or a business subscribing to it.
If you received a message as a customer
In this case the data is not ours but the business's that messaged you: we operate the platform it uses, and it decides what is collected and when it is deleted. The fastest route is to contact that business directly and ask for your data to be deleted — it can do so from within the platform.
To stop marketing messages alone, simply reply to any message you received asking us to stop. Your request is recorded and honoured immediately, with no action from us and no waiting.
If you cannot identify the business that messaged you, or receive no reply from it, write to [email protected] and tell us what identifies the message you received. We will reach the business on your behalf, follow up on your request, and respond to you.
If you are a subscribing business
You can delete any customer's data yourself from within the platform, including their conversations, messages and related records. You can also disconnect your messaging account from the platform whenever you wish, and our access ends immediately.
To delete your business account and all its data, write to us from the address registered on the account at [email protected]. We verify your identity and your authority over the account, confirm the request, allow you a period to cancel it or export your data, and then carry out the deletion.
What is not deleted, and why
A limited amount remains after deletion, used neither to operate the service nor to send anything:
- Records we are required to keep by accounting and tax regulations
- What is needed to honour requests to stop messages — deleting it would mean disturbing again those who asked us to stop
- Anonymised records that identify no one
Response times
Anything that can be done immediately — stopping marketing messages, deleting a customer's data from within the platform, or disconnecting a messaging account — takes effect as soon as it is requested. Anything requiring verification on our side is handled as quickly as possible and within the periods the law prescribes.
